Supporting Women Gubernatorial Candidates in the 2018 Cycle

In 2018, Nesbitt & Parrinello performed research in support of female gubernatorial candidates in Michigan and Georgia.

Our work in Georgia helped distinguish between two Democratic candidates with similar backgrounds on the surface, and ultimately demonstrated that the woman of color had a better record on education, race relations, and criminal justice reform. The Nesbitt & Parrinello-supported candidate went on to win her primary election.

In Michigan, Nesbitt & Parrinello’s work highlighted the poor professional records of the woman candidate’s challengers, in addition to their hypocritical statements in numerous issue areas, including healthcare and abortion. In November 2018, the Nesbitt & Parrinello-supported candidate won the general election with 53% of the vote and vowed to protect abortion rights for all Michiganders as governor.
